Trophies for them

by Manahill Naik
They never knew
How I clutched my trembling pen
With each day passing
Filling endless pages
With words of wisdom
With each passing day
Me, taking over my kingdom
Lit with dark
Gradually
Spreading afar
But they never knew
How wonders are carved from common rocks
How serene I stand with their generous mocks
Hence
They would not know
How dreams have grown within me
Dreams I share with the world,
Dreams that lurk beside them, unseen
Uninterested as they are,
Will get to see me one day,
As the brightest star
**

Agreed,
They nurture my needs,
Yet, clumsily rejects,
My unhidden talent hidden with fear
My passion, my dream, my aims, my soul
And,
Me as a whole,
They lose themselves,
In materials,
In existence,
In their predictions,
That they bestow confidently,
Upon my future,
When I never even believed,
In predictions and illusions.
***

Why have you always,
Considered me childish, dumb, stupid?
I'm fifteen and I am wholly aware,
And I have set,
My passion and my aim apart
Now,
Will you applaud?
Or will you laugh?
****

Sometimes,
It's hard to believe,
These are the people,
Who gave birth to me,
Yet we stand two worlds apart,
Theirs, determined, by them, assumed correct
Mine, struggling, to gain their respect
Once
Peek inside
The world I now, rule
Truthful words,
Passionate aggression,
Would you not care even then?
Would you be proud? Or, ridiculed?
Or would you, next time, hold my hand when I write?
If you don't, I'd rebel, I'd fight
You are mistaken
In my kingdom,
I no more limp on stage,
I do not stutter when I speak,
Then one day, come to my world,
If you want to see,
Or maybe,
You'll see,
When finally,
I'd struggle enough to bring back home,
The trophies,
Because materials is only,
What you need,
What you'll ever see.
Let others and the author know if you liked it

Liked it alot?
