The Warlock Down The Street - Part 1

by PenFairy
It was way past midnight.
It was dark and she knew she should not enter the young warlock's house, but a bet is a bet.
It is not everyday you get a chance to win a quick 50 dollar, and as easy as breathing too! All she had to do was,

"Enter his house and grab whatever potion you can, snap a picture of him, stay for 3 minutes and leave. As easy as that, and the 50 dollars will be yours"

She remembered Jack's orders. 10 minutes later, here she was, spying on the big red house at the end of the street, looking for her chance to enter.

The house she was about to break into belonged to a young warlock (or so they assumed). According to her mother's GOL group (Gossiping Old Ladies), he was about 22 years old, single and extremely handsome. How they knew these details? She had no idea, for none of her friends from the neighborhood had actually seen him, and it was now up to her to put all their doubts to rest. As well as answering the most important question of all: Is he really as handsome as the GOL ladies claim?

The lights in the house went out and she seized the opportunity and made her move.

She took out her hair pin and picked on the lock of his front door. (She had been taking extensive classes with Chris - The class thief, specifically for this purpose)
But alas! How unfortunate, the door was not locked!

"Well, 5 hours of my life was wasted with Chris!", she sighed under her breath.

As she tiptoed slowly into the house, anxious and excited, she pulled out her camera phone.

It was true! He was a warlock! She stood dead on her tracks as her eyes were set on the huge collection of potions in the living room. There could have been almost thousands of potion bottles!

Her heart started racing.

If he was a real Warlock, did he know she was here?

Before she finished that thought, she heard someone behind her.

"Hello Madeline, I was expecting you. You are late"

She froze. Her eyes widened.

"Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me," she pleaded in her mind, as she slowly turned to face the owner of the voice.

"Hahaha. Oh Madeline! Why on earth would I ever kill you?", he said sounding very amused.

He reads mind?
