The Random Verses

RANDOM VERSES

Let’s talk about some snippets from the Bible.
Oh! What’s that again?”
Well, it’s nothing. But I’m moved today to talk about some random snippets from the bible so we can examine them from the understanding that there is no scripture of a private interpretation but are all woven together to explain the mind of God and to direct us on the pathway to walking with him.
So, how are you going to do that?
Well, if the scripture is an interwoven instruction or guideline to how a man should relate with God, and with one another, with a plethora of samples and characters of real-life situations, then any verse I pick out randomly to examine should give me a lead to an aspect of what I should do in relating with God.
Sure, that’s what it means.
So, which verse or verses do you want to take on for this examination to see if it does not have a private interpretation?
Well, don’t just stand there and be looking at me. Give me any verse that comes to your mind from the bible.
Okay, okay. Let’s take Exodus 31:1-3
Do you think there’s chapter 31 in Exodus? Let’s get the bible to find out what those verses would say.
Come on, Exodus has 40 chapters, and I’m only talking about chapter 31.
Okay, here’s the bible. It’s an NKJV version; a Legacy Study Bible, Hank Hariegraaff general edition.
Do you think you'll have to quote all that to understand what the verses are teaching? Well, you can never tell. We have various versions of the bible with English language variations. So we’ll have to look at other versions to truly understand what we should know.
Let’s get to it now.
Exodus 31: 1-3, “Now the Lord spoke to Moses saying. ‘See, I have called by name Bezaleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur of the tribe of Judah. And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.’’’
So, this is from the NKJV. What about another version of the Bible?
Well, let’s look at KJV.
Oh! It says the same thing literarily. Let’s check on the amplified Bible.
Okay, here’s the Amplified Bible. It also says the same thing. Which other version of the bible do you have handy, so we make an informed understanding?
Alright, I have, wait a minute. Here it is. I have the NKJV Thompson Chain Reference bible.
Let’s check if it has to say something different. But, no, wow! This is going to make a great expository teaching. These verses expose that every believer must have a divine call.
Now, that reminds me of the scripture that says in John 15:16“You have not chosen me but I have chosen you.” You see, God told Moses, “I have called Bezaleel.”- meaning that God called someone from the lineage of his chosen people, Judah.
From those verses, we can learn a lot about God’s divine call. There are many types of Divine calls; call to repentance, call to leadership, universal call, and call to make a decision.
The call of Bezaleel was a call to leadership, where God inspired him to build the tabernacle. Other examples of leadership calls in the bible were the cases of Abraham, Gen 12:1; Moses, Exodus 3:10, Aaron, Ezekiel, Joshua, Gideon, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Paul, and Barnabas.
Therefore, no man can claim to be a servant of God unless God calls him Heb.5:4.
Let’s get back to our discussion. God did not only call out Bezaleel, but he also filled him with the Holy Spirit. Now, you don’t want to ask me the importance of the giving of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life, would you?
Someone filled with the Holy Spirit is one that will do exploits in God’s work. Let’s look at some men that were filled with the Spirit of God in the bible.
But first, let us see what God says concerning Bezaleel.
“I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.”
That you will agree was a total divine package of grace and power, an overload, one might add.
In Luke 1:15, the prophecy concerning the birth of John, was that he would be filled with the power of God. in Luke 4:1, “Jesus returned from the wilderness filled with the Spirit of God.” In Acts 2:4 the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit. Act, 4:8, was about Peter declaring the power of God, being filled with the Holy Spirit4:31 they speak with boldness, being filled with the Holy Spirit, other instances are: Act 7:55; 11:24; Isa. 9:52. The list here is in-exhaustive.
God gave him wisdom as well. Here again, I cannot overemphasize the wisdom of God, for He is wisdom, and again, there are various aspects to the context of God’s wisdom. Wisdom to discern what is right or wrong, the wisdom that is God himself, Gen 1:31 Job 12:13, Psm104:24; Prov. 3:19. By wisdom, God founded the earth, and by understanding, he established Heaven.
True Wisdom: Deu. 32:19, “Oh, that they were wise, that they that they understand this; that they would have considered their latter end.”
We cannot, in the singular random verse, exhaust our talk on wisdom. We will get around talking about it if our random selection picks it up, or we’ll create a date on it.
Let us look at understanding and see what the Lord commands about it. In Deu. 4:6; Psm 49:3; 101:43; we will know that by observing the statutes of God, we will understand his loving-kindness.
In Psm. 119:10, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and a good understanding has all of these; Psm 119:104; 119:125; etc. here again, this is in-exhaustive.
Why then did God then load to Bezaleel, and to every other person he would call?
So, he would have the skill to all workmanship-skills to do whatever the lord would require of us to do in promoting the work of God. In his case, he would have the skill to build the tabernacle according to the prescription and desire of God.
God gives skills and workmanship to everyone he calls to carry out the fulfillment of the ministry work. What skill has the Lord given to you, my brother?
I hope you did not lock it up in your closet as that slothful servant did by burying his master’s talent in the ground, not knowing what to do with it.
I pray we will not use the skill and workmanship the lord had given to us to serve Mammoth.
Let us look at what the Lord had commanded. In Exodus28:3; 35:10; 35:35; 1 King 7:14. “He was a widow’s son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man from Tyre, filled with the wisdom and understanding, and cunning to work all the works in brass. And he came to King Solomon and wrought all his works.” (That was Hiram).
So, you see, in a flip, we decided to take a random verse from the bible, and its chain and uniformity to the overall works of God is limitless.
And I am telling you the truth. I have never worked or associated these scripture verses with any teaching or lesson I have learned or taught. I took them out randomly to substantiate the scripture that a singular verse of it is of a private interpretation.
Next time we will be picking another random verse to study the uniformity of the word of God. In the meantime, why not pick out a random verse and search the scripture?
Let others and the author know if you liked it

Liked it alot?
