The Cock Crow of a New Dawn

As I stood guard on my night watch,

And weariness of the night watch

Weighs on my loins and my body has become drowsy;

And my alertness draws out the fetter to

The breaking point of desolation on this drudge

I heard the Cock Crow of the New Dawn.

I raised my eyes to the Eastern Horizon.

From the gloomy shadows of the surrounding night.

I can see the glimmering of the dawn

On the faraway ending of the dark shadows,

Bearing with it the hope of the new day.

Again, I heard the Cock Crow of a New Dawn.

It is 4 in the morning and the shades of

The night appears dark all around me,

I could feel the joy of the breaking of the day

To a New Dawn, breaking through

The shadow of the night and its fears.

Yet I still hear the Cock Crow of a New Dawn.

Thus, in the wee hours of the year 2022,

With the shadows of sadness and joy,

Reclining to the infinity of time;

And a new dawn of another year is

Breaking the time barrier from the future.

We all can hear the Cock Crow of the New Dawn.

Our memories of the events of the year 2022

Would be a mixture of some glorious moments,

And the images of feelings we would push

Away with the pains, it caused to our aspirations.

But as with passaging time, they will

All recede into the past as an infinite blur,

As the sound of the Cock Crow of a New Dawn grows louder,

And so, we let go of the past with all the

Events therein, receding as a fading

Midnight dream into a blurry hazy

Memories of our life in this infinity

Of timelessness, as we reach out to embrace

The dawn of another year, as the Cock Crows.

Let others and the author know if you liked it

Liked it alot?
