The Busy Man
The Busy Man

He is busy all the time –
I ask him what keeps him so;
He says he likes being busy,
So that he will not feel bored.
I ask him what he would do
If he had an hour free;
He says he’ll fill it with work,
So that he’s no longer free.
I ask if he doesn’t need
To have some time to himself.
He says its unlikely that
He’ll enjoy his company;
He’d rather earn one more dime
That somebody else can spend.
