SOULS!!

“Okay, this house is not so bad”.

I try to assure myself that everything will be just fine since my family just moved here including me actually right here in Lake View.

“ How do you like it so far, honey? You know, a famous lady lived here once. I’m sure you’re going to love it, oh boy” said mum who was looking too over excited about it.

I turn to looked at mum and ‘huh’...What is she babbling about? I unpacked my bags from the car and put on my earphones.

After finish unpacking my bags from the car, I decided to walk around the lake just right beside the creepy house. I had a feeling that someone was watching my every moves. As I was about to leave, at the far end of the lake, I saw a little boy staring at me. He was clad in a black T-shirt and a white pants. He was pointing at something. I called out to him but suddenly he shouted and blood was running down his hand.

“AAAAHHHH!!!” I shouted and ran but I tripped and sprained my ankle.

My mum came rushing to my aid and ask” What’s wrong honey? Are you okay? Robert, come here, I think Penny sprained her ankle”.

I grabbed my mum’s hand but I was stuttered unable to speak. My body was so cold and I shuddered. My dad came running towards me and carried me inside. I guess this is where my nightmare begins.

I was seated on a nice soft cushion and my mum was treating my ankle by putting some ointment and massage it. I was daydreaming and the flashback of the little boy suddenly came floating in my mind.

“Penny, what happen to you back then? I know you were so excited to move here but what did I told you about being careful? Who told you to go to the lake by yourself?” said my mum, questioning me.

“Huh”. I was confused.

My mum looked at me and surprisingly, did not nagged at me like she usually does.

“Penny, you are 15 and soon you are going to be a teenager. If you have a problem..”

“Mum, would you believe me and think that I’m not crazy and making up silly or stupid stories? I looked at my mum, hoping she would believe me.

“What have you done this time?”asked my mum questioning me like a police officer. That look, I’m not going to like it.

“ I saw a little boy by the lake. I was trying to call him but suddenly his hands were filled with blood. I was terrified then I ran and sprained my ankle” I said out of breath.

My mum was not surprised at all..I knew it. She wouldn’t believe a word I’ve said. She thought I was hallucinating or exaggerating.

Dad came around asking “ Is Penny okay” and mum was like” Yeah, she is. I think our daughter is strong that’s why she has a lot of imagination”. My dad was laughing and I was like “Are mum and dad mocking me?”

That night, I refused to eat dinner because I was upset and wanted to be alone. As I was wandering aimlessly around, a room in the corner caught my attention. I turned the knob and switch on the light. There were old and antique things in there. Wonder who were the owner of this house once.

I rummaged through an old box and found and old album containing pictures. I opened it and inspect every pictures. Wait, that’s the little boy. Why is his picture here? Is he still alive? A lot of questions rang in my ear and I mutter his name, Henry.

“Please, go..save yourself”. The little boy suddenly appeared out of nowhere and showing his bloodied hands. “She’s coming...go save yourself ”

I dropped the album and tried to backed away but I fell down on my butt. I tried to scream but there was no sound coming out of my mouth at all. Then he vanished. I looked around, sweat running down my forehead and I was crying A book dropped right at the bottom of my feet and I gasped. What now?

My hands were shaking as I tried to flip the pages of the book and the headlines caught my attention. ‘ Lady Contessa, a demon Worshipper who murdered her child, Little Henry as a sacrifice to the demon”.

“What are you doing here?” my Mum suddenly appear out of nowhere. Dad was not around as he was working late.

Mum kneel down beside me and looked at the book I was reading. I take the chance to show her the little boy in the album.

“Mum, that is the little boy I saw at the lake and that is his mother..We shouldn’t be here in the first place. That boy appeared right here just a few minutes ago and he told me to save myself. I wasn’t lying after all”. I tried to convinced my mum that this is not a lie.

Suddenly, the door shuts and all the things started to move own its own. Furniture's moving, making a screeching sound, books thrown everywhere, the room filled with cries, laughter and shrieking. The room has turned into a fiery dent. Mum was terrified. I bet now she believes me. I was standing in the corner while mum rushed to the door and tried to open it but to no avail. A woman in black appeared, her face scary as ever was pointing at me with a deep voice “YOUR SOUL” with a continuous evil laugh.

“Mum!!!” I shouted to my mum, reaching out my hand to her. My mum tried to run towards me but a sudden force overthrown her and she hit the wall hard that she fell unconscious.

“What do you want?? Leave me alone!!!” I shouted, the rate of my breath getting quicker and quicker. I whimpered like a little kid.

“Your soul..Your soul. He’s waiting for you, WHORE!! HAHAHA” said the woman in black as she takes a pace forward.

Suddenly, a group of little children started to form in front of me as if they were trying to protect me. I saw Henry too, the little boy who warned me about his mother.

“ How dare you!! All of you will rot in HELL!!” the woman said, her fingers pointing to each of the little children.

“Enough mother. We will stop you from hurting her” said Henry.

“NOOOOOOOO!!!!!” the woman shrieks as the children surrounded her and consumed her. She vanished in thin air and the room was dead silent. Where did she go?

I rushed to my mum, shaking her body hoping she would regain conscious.

“Your mother is going to be okay. Don’t worry. You have to go. My mother is unstoppable. Leave before she comes back again. We can only protect you for a little while” said Henry who stood beside me and he vanished.

My mum regain conscious and we quickly get out of the room. My mum quickly rushed outside as my dad just get home from work. My mum told everything about the paranormal activities going on and my dad wasn’t the type to believe but my mum insists that we have to get out of the house for our safety. Mum told me to wait in the car as she and dad quickly packed some of the clothing.

Dad started the engine and off we go far away from the nightmares that once begin.
