Smiling At Night

by purpletears
Staring to the night sky, she felt her heart getting filled with a sweet and calm sensation. Was that… happiness? There was no way to know it for certain. But suddenly, she felt a need to give the world her brightest smile. Yes, life wasn´t exactly very kind with her. But that was no excuse to filling other´s souls with dark unhappiness. Even if nobody could see her at that hour of the night, the young lady knew that the best thing to do was to keep that little smile on her face. She was a warrior who through her young life had fought so many wars against herself. So, it was her only right to show the world that behind the faint scars that still covered her arms and legs, there was a human being, working hard to get back on track with her life. Depression held her down for so many years, making her forget about those little things that made her happy. Thankfully, now those dark days were only a bad memory from the past… Yes, it was dark outside, but for the young girl, warm sunbeams were gently caressing her heart. Yes, against everything, there were still beautiful reasons to smile.
