Part 5: Asgard

by M.D Khamil
“Be careful now Grimm please stay close to me, hold tight my spear.” I did as what Odin tell me so. In a blinding light we soared lightning speed to the skies, all seven level skies and without me realizing it, we already arrived in Asgard's main gate of light portal. There we saw a big tall man in golden armor guarding the gate. “Ahh! Heimdall! Please close the gate immediately. We don’t want any trouble happening.” Odin said. We passed in front of Heimdall and I do not dare to watch his gaze. He looked really creepy.

Odin brought me crossed the rainbow bridge on a flying horse in a golden armor. I never thought that unicorns exist in Asgard. There in front of me were huge golden pillars, walls, building, statues and extraordinary gardens floating in the air with glittering waterfalls. The skies were orange and purplish crystal light with few planets or realms visible from my view in Asgard. These gigantic, modern-classic architecture made my heart pounding and it was unreal to my eyes. But the reality really hit me when I saw an army of Einhenjar stood in line to the right and left at the end of the entrance gate saluting to us, I mean to Odin. They were shimmering bright in their golden armor.

“Grandad. How rich can you be? These buildings and all. How is this even possible?” I asked nervously, even my heart seemed want to jump out of my chest.
“Oh all of these? My boy we Asgardian practice magic apart from self defense. We can turn stone into gold, water into oil, air into water, wood into bronze and pearls into silver. But do you know where do our magic came from?” He asked.
“Hogwarts?” I replied.
“No! Silly boy! Our magic came from different gem stones such as amethyst, ruby, sapphire, emerald and so on. Each gem stones possessed different elements and energy. With certain combination, these gem stones can create a new magic, unlike we have seen before. It’s like a new science discoveries.”
“That sounds really cool grandpa. So Asgard was built entirely on magic.”
“Yes it is.”

We reached the palace in no time. We were escorted by those Einhenjar till we reached the hall where Odin’s throne was. Odin was still holding my hands walking me crossed the hall with so many warriors having their meals. It was some sort of celebration or something. Many of them stunned to look at me, because I think, I was the only boy and I’m seventeen. There, sitting next to Odin’s throne was the Queen. She was smiling at me. The queen looked so beautiful even though she was as old as my grandad. I was like, she could be my grandma. My real grandma. I have never known my grandma for the entire of my life. She passed away long before I was born. I only knew grandad, who happen to be the King of Asgard. It was so awkward, Odin let me stood next to his throne while he started to introduce me to the crowds.

“Attention! Warriors and Magicians! Today I’m going to introduce to you all, my one and only grandson Grimm Ripper!” I saw the crowds murmuring to each other. Some even gave me a weird sour look.
“He’s the son of Loki and he is now under my guidance and protection.” More whispers among the crowds. Then Odin continued.
“He has the power to help us protect Asgard and this is what I’ve seen in the prophecy long time ago. Anyone who wants to object please speak now.” Everyone was quiet. Then every single one of them kneel down to me and chanting, “Peace to Asgard! Peace to Asgard! Peace to Asgard!”
