Nowhere To Run (Its an excerpt from my novel that I'm writing now.)

The sun is almost setting down the horizon. Casting its glittering rays on the sea water creating a beautiful view for everyone to see.

The warm air is cooling down, leaving a trail of soft breeze on its wake.

Tourist are walking along the seashore, while some are enjoying the cool water as they played with their friends and families.

Everyone are happy, and enjoying themselves.

Mryna Thomas, is one of them. Its the last day of her vacation leave and she's enjoying it to the fullest.

Sitting on one of the reclining chair with her friend, Kyra Mendez she's busy ogling at the half naked guys walking around the place.

"That one is hot!" Myrna exclaimed, excited.

"Uh, huh. No way, that one is more hotter." Kyra insist.

Myrna snapped her head at her friend's way and quirk her brows. "You're serious? That guy looks like a fucking buffoon with a big ass." She deadpanned. "And sweetie, I think he's gay."

"So? There's nothing wrong with that." Kyra huffed. "It doesn't stop him for looking good, and FYI Myrz, gay people are better looking than those straight jackasses!"

Myrna snort at her friend's outburst. She's aware that Kyra's brother is gay and insulting one on her face will make her so fucking mad. But still Myna enjoys teasing her friend about it.

"Okay, okay." She chuckles, and stand on her feet. "I'm gonna buy some soda, you want some?"

"Yeah." Kyra chirps. Before she turn her eyes at her and lift her brows, smirking. "But please make it quick. Avoid those guys, and stop flirting."

Myrna tilt her head, and looked at the stall not far from them. She saw the man she spotted before, and smirk. Looking back at her friend, still smirking she wink. "I can't guarantee that."

Kyra curse under her breath, while Myna just giggles. Whipping her body she almost fall on her feet when she bump into someone.

"Hey, watch it!" She angrily snap, but grew still when she saw a boy, who looks afraid, beyond his wits.

Myrna frown and looked closely at the boy. He is a complete mess. His face is bruised and full of scratches. "You okay?" She asked. But to her surprise the boy suddenly starts trembling. Then he jump on his feet and clutch on her arms with a vice grip.

"Hey, what's happening?" Myna asked, shakily. But the boy didn't answer back.

"Myrz what's wrong?" Kyra asked when he suddenly walks behind her.

Myrna look at her friend, completely terrified. "I don't know.."

But Myrna whip her head at the boy in his arms when he starts wiggling and gasping for air. Myrna, become more afraid. He's obviously in pain, but she doesn't know why.

"Ky, can you call for an ambulance. This boy is scaring me.."

"Already done. But God, what the heck happened to him?"

"I dunno."

Then, if she's afraid before. She become more terrified now, when the boy snap his head upwards, and let out a blood curling scream. It spooked her to no end, and she can't help but just cry. His screams are full of agony and despair. And she don't want to hear it. Myrna just wanted it all to stop.

People starts encircling their little group, and she can hear their whispering, and chatting. Asking Kyra on what's happening but like her, she also doesn't know what is wrong with the boy. Then as if the God's heard her plea, she heard whistle of sirens not far from them. Making her sigh with relief, not to add that the boy already stop screaming.

"You're going to be—" And Myrna, screams.

Her heart thudded heavily on her ribcage when she finally looked down at the boy.

Everyone gasp, and shudder with fear.

The paramedics arrived at the scene, and they can't help but feel the same way too.

Doctor Phil Nates, pull his phone and type a number he knows by heart before he put the device on his ear. "You have to come down and looked at this. There's another vic."
