May Flowers May Die

by Slave Prince
Across the river
Across the town
I had been in a flower garden
Just before the sun down

*

The dying sun touched their petals
The little raindrops cooled each root
Every step and dance I did
Made my naked feet attract soot

*

The clouds, although flying in strands
Looked like my father's silver hair
Inside this colorful garden
Gleeful laughs traveled through the May air

*

It was during my own wedding
When I appreciated all these more than a dime
My husband said, "May flowers may die,
But my love shall live forever, or say a lifetime"
Let others and the author know if you liked it

Liked it alot?
