IN THE END, IT’S ONLY YOU WHO CAN SAVE YOURSELF!!!

Alia is a very loving, caring and soft-hearted person. She had just one sister in her family except of her parents. She takes family as her life and friends as her soul. She believes that “love is all one need” and practices the same, spreading the love and caring for her loved ones, struggling to make this world a better place by playing her role. People aim to be a doctor, an engineer, an architect etc but Alia’s aim is to be such a person who has never hurt anyone from her hands neither from her tongue. Though she has faced the world and knows well how one can be hurt severely but she still thinks innocently as a child, heart full of love with no grudges, enmity and hatred for anyone.

One day she had a dire need of someone for help. She got a call for a very fine job and it required attested copy of one of her documents. It was a transport strike that day and her father was out of city for some work. She was so worried because they had given the time of just one night and she had to appear for the interview the very coming morning along with her attested documents. She could only ask her friends for help now. Friends whom she had help every time they need, given anything they asked. She hadn’t word “no” in her dictionary for her friends and her friends always returned the same too.

She dialed Irfan, one of her very nice friend. He has been there for her most of the time she needed. She avoided female friends at first because it was a men’s task mainly and she was already running out of time.

“Hello! Irfan it’s me Alia. I need your help,” her voice was too anxious.

“Yes Alia. Is everything alright?” Irfan suddenly got worried.

“I have got a call for job and they need my attested document. For that I need to go to a government employee and its transport strike today. Can you give me your car for an hour only?” Alia explained him the whole situation briefly.

“Umm Alia! I really want to help you out but my brother has taken my car since morning for whole day and he’s out of city with his friends. Should I come to your place and sort something out together?” Irfan felt abash.

“Oh! No no its fine. I’ll ask one of my cousins. Don’t worry.” Alia hustled and hung up.

She called her another friend, Eman and repeated the same situation. She told her that she is out of home with family for hangout. She felt a pang and a heart-ache even though she knew that they were sincere with her and weren’t lying to her. She had a very strange feeling at the moment. But what she decided was get up, dress up and do it for herself. She went to the taxi-stand and asked one of the taxi-drivers to take her to destination. They refused and then she decided to pay some extra money to them. They refused again. She wander here and there and ask different drivers and finally after half an hour one taxi-driver agreed on double than normal payment. She went and did her work. That day she had a bizzare feeling of self-confidence and pride.

Moral: In the end, it’s only you who can save yourself. Despite all the loving relationships in life, the strongest is the relationship with own self. Depending on someone is an unethical and destructive habit, destruction of one’s own self.

Life has changed a lot now; it has taken a completely different turn. I am having an aversion with this mature and sober aspect of my personality, that busy-bee side of me. I am a fresh graduate and have recently started my job just a few months...
