In That Old Round Table

by Cyneburg's Field
In that old round table

we used to read stories

Together we enter

A different world

It's just the two of us

And the characters of the book we read.

We went to Japan

and played under the sakura trees

I love the cherry blossoms

And I know you also do

Though you didn't talk

I could see it on the twinkle of your eyes.

We met Mr. Shakespeare;

he was a good man.

He taught us good things

To make us good kids

One day he lead us

To the palace of Juliet.

She was blessed with beauty

and I could see how much you admired her

Then came Romeo

Shakespeare said he is her prince charming

I could see how you admired the both of them

And seen you weep when you saw them die.

We've been into a war

and understood the battle

We've seen Hitler cried

When no one else should

You've always look up to him

Was he a great man?

We've been to the sun

damn it was hot

So we flew to the moon

And saw how beautiful our earth was

It felt like I could almost reach

The reality we must return.

You asked me if I was fine

for I haven't talked a lot

I say,

"Is it so unusual

that I may be sick if I fall to silence?"

A laugh burst from your mouth

I was glad to witness that.

The next day I'm again in much excite

It shows on the skips and hops on the way

Our next adventure, our next travel

Where could we be?

I wait for you.

Hour have passed

It felt like forever

Still I wait with that book we're suppose to read

To the place we're suppose to go

But... could it be that it came?

The day to wake up from this dream?

I still keep on coming back

To that old round table

Hoping one day I'll see a familiar silhouette

But I've waited forever

And still there's no you.

Since that last adventure

Reading had been different.
