How Whatsapp Screwed Me!

by Mohit91
Have you ever had a girlfriend? If yes, then I am sure that you must have had your heart broken by her or you’d have broken her heart at some point of time. I too had a girlfriend (This line was thought of by me, the book ‘I too had a love story’ didn’t influence me, though, I wonder if it influenced anyone). And the way I broke up with her was sad, but the way we again patched was funny, for sure.
OK, so, I had a girlfriend and I liked her very much. However, lately we had started fighting a lot, even on trivial issues and I just thought it would be better to break up rather than continuing on. So, what did I do? I started making myself look bad in front of her and eventually she broke up with me. I made it look as I was depressed and this was the worst phase of my life etc. etc. At the same time, I told her that she was doing the right thing; after all I’m not the right kind of guy for her.
So, there I was, dumped and extremely happy (oh! the irony). But, I didn’t know that I’d have so much of bad luck in the next few days. As it happened, I deleted her phone number from my mobile phone on the day of break up itself. Some days later, I received a message from her, "I see that you are miserable due to our break up. You have even deleted your Whatsapp profile picture and don’t even come online that much. I am very sorry, you are a good guy and I want to give you a second chance.”

I was flabbergasted. Yeah I had stopped going online but it was mostly because of study reasons, not because I was sad or melancholic. And the profile picture thing, it turns out that Whatsapp had modified its app, and now a person can’t see other person’s profile picture unless the other person also has his/her number saved in his/her mobile. Deleting her mobile number had become a nightmare for me. What could I’ve done, I had portrayed that I was struck by lightning because of the break up. And now, she was giving me a second chance, which I didn’t even asked for.
So, I called her up and said that I was delighted, though I really wasn’t, and would love to get a second chance, *stupid me*. And there I was, back in the prison from which I had escaped with such ingeniousness. :(
