Fire of Caveat - Part 14

by Velantra
Jolene was lying on her bed, looking at pictures. She stares at the picture of her and Carlton. They met at a party of a mutual friend, when he was eighteen and she sixteen. They fell in love the first time they laid eyes on each other.
They couldn’t wait to get married, like two love sick puppies are at that age. Carlton is smiling down on her deeply in love on their wedding pictures. A picture of Carlton and Alice dancing and laughing at their wedding. “Did they like each other from the beginning?” She clenches her jaws together. How she hates her. With her beautiful blond hair, her light brown eyes, with that always present twinkle of happiness in them. The way men lingered and drooled over her.
She was just after Barneys money. Having the family name and prestige. When they weren’t able to have children, she used Carlton to make sure she will always stay part of the family.
Carlton always had an eye for a pretty face, especially sexy blonds, with long legs. She doesn’t know when Carlton fell for the seduction of his sister in law. Or did he seduce her? She can’t and won’t believe that.
She was angry, furious, distraught and wounded when she found out Trish was Carltons child. How she hates that child. She thinks of the day she found the letter with the DNA confirmation, saying that she was his daughter. She was enraged with jealousy, another woman giving him the daughter he so desperately wanted.
It ruined all of their life’s. The fight she had with Carlton, with his don’t care attitude about how she felt. When he just turned around and walked away, she totally lost it.
She can still remember the look on his face, amusement, turning into anger, caution, nervousness, when she came closer with the revolver. The disbelief on his face when the shot went off. The last look he gave her before he closed his eyes. No sadness, no remorse. There was no pain showing on his face. His eyes were cold and empty. Jolene turns pale.
That cold fearless look of death staring at her, knowing she will pay, haunts her every night for the last seventeen years. Every night she closed her eyes, his face was in front of her, making her shiver with fear, waiting for that cold look consuming her soul into that darkness of death……
She tries to think of something else, looking at the three brothers and their wife’s. Apart from Carlton having Trish with Alice, him and her were the only couple who had children. They had one boy Carlton Anthony: named after Carlton.
She laughed pleased with herself: “What you Walsh family don’t know, is that I decided who the mom of my grandchild will be.”
Her brother never married and when Marcha and her mom walked into his life, he had the family he always dreamed of. When her brother had a heart attack and passed away, Marcha and her mom was the only family she had. Jolene was the only person that ever cared about Marcha. To her, Jolene was as good as her own blood family.
When Jolene asked Marcha to help her, she had no problem cohering with the plan. Seducing Carlton, falling pregnant. Giving Jolene a beautiful and loving grandchild. Her sons baby with a woman she chose and they don’t even know it. She gets excited from her tummy to her toes just thinking about it.
They might be keeping Carlton out of the business now, but when she gets out, they will claim their part of the Walsh business and heritage as they well deserve. She will make sure of that.
Jolene sit up smiling. She takes a piece of paper and make a list of things she wants to do when she finally walks out of those gates.
“Hair and nails,
New clothes,
Shoes,
Make-up,
Massage.
Yes, a whole new makeover. The day I walk into that house with Marcha and my grandchild on my side, I want that Walsh family squirming like hamsters.”
Jolene started laughing, the sound of an insane woman’s hysteria in her voice

So the new chapter in the life's of the Walsh family begins.....
