D.Y.S.T.O.P.I.A II

by bestdianneever

I hear a loud crash.

"Open your goddamn eyes!" The doctor shouts.

It is all what it takes for me to completely lose my temper. I've been hurt. I've been betrayed.

I am the patient. I am in the pit of dying. I am at the edge of screaming.

Enough, I think. That's enough bullshit.
"Is your daughter deaf? Or it is just how she responds after she run away with a guy of different strata only to be left betrayed?" He shouts at my parents.
My fists clench and unclench. My heart beats in a fast rate. I feel my blood boiling as it rises up. I know running away from the government to marry someone of lower strata is forbidden. I know loving Kyre is completely prohibited. It's against the law.

The laws our government imposed without the citizens' right to speak whether they want it or they don't. We're just trapped in their own cage unable to protest.
But I just committed one of the deadly sins. I just stepped on they're pride.

I wonder if they'll kill me or just throw me away and let me die.

"So, she's really playing safe because of guilt. See? She can't even face you."

That's it.

I'm angry.

I opened my eyes only to hear them scream like they'd seen a monster.
And they're looking at me while shouting.

But this time, I can no longer see the darkness. Light, only light is what fills the White Room.
Light coming from my eyes and I'm no longer blind.

I can clearly see the doctor's shocked face while he's running away from me, and I was able to witness how he screams in pain when the light touches his skin. He's hurting like it's burning him.

What's happening? I don't know why there's white light coming from my eyes. I don't know why the doctor is running away like a madman.
And my parents, they stood there paralyzed, afraid of what I'd become.

"Stay away from us!" My mother orders.

"Mom I don't know what's happening," I stepped closer but they took hundred steps backward. And I never imagined I'd realize that those hundred steps would mean so much things.

That they are afraid of me. They want me to go away. They don't love me anymore. They're abandoning me. I am a monster.
"There. There she is!" The doctor points at me with all the other people in this hospital. "Seize her!" he commands at the gendarme with their pistols in hand. They run toward me, trying to hit me with a bullet.

I'm angry and scared. I'm confused and terrified. I'm breathless for a second. But after that, I'm a monster again. They stopped a meter away from me, I remain in my place.

Then my eyes released the white light again and this time, it hits them.
11 people lie on the floor including the doctor, dead.

My mother screams. She screams so loud, so terribly loud at the sudden loss of lives caused by her own daughter: Me.
Run, I say to myself. I have to run now.

But the words remain words stuck in my throat. They never gave me strength, they never make me any stronger. I'm just as weak as these words.

And on the floor, I collapsed.
