Down The Memory Lane

by Dr.Blossom
I remember how anxious I was,
When I first barged through those gates.
New place, with strange faces,
New hallway, with a clock striking eight.

I came with a thought of determination,
Leaving another place behind.
It was hard to accept a change,
But I had a vision in my mind.

To get to my destination,
This was a turn I had to take.
I know this was different;
But, there were decisions to be made.

A place I never thought,
Would be so dear to me someday.
It all started to happen,
When you just said, 'Hey!'

The first laughter we had,
When my finger got stuck to find the lens;
Who knew a funny microscope experience,
Would be stored in the memory lane.

Remember? When I put the blue ink,
To get the experiment done.
Seriously, I never thought ,
Chemistry lab would be so much fun.

I still haven't forgotten,
The first fight we had.
A week without talking,
My life seemed dead.

Our egos were too high,
Although it was different inside.
We didn't even say, 'Hi!'
But deep down the hearts cried.

The physics lab played it's part,
When the eye met the eye.
A smirk appeared, next came the laugh,
Like we never had a fight.

A few more memories were made,
On the dusty playground.
We laughed till our stomachs ached,
Until the bell made a sound.

And finally came the day,
When a farewell had to be.
What started with a, 'Hey!'
Had now to be ceased.

This poem is a portrait of what writing is to me. For me it has been a form of expressing from the basic to the most complex things in life. I hope you like it! **Criticism is wholly welcomed. Dr.Blossom
