Angel's Bed

You lie between the twisted sheets,
Worn on your face a mask of peace,
Where are you now in your secret world?
Unconscious visions becoming unfurled.

I admire your beauty, your body exposed,
arms crossed over your chest in an angels pose,
I stare and I wonder how you came to me,
We both for a moment, are entirely free.

I wonder if I appear when you are at rest
Am I welcome, or just a memory repressed,
I told you I’d come and see you one day
But our worlds are apart, so here I must stay.
