All I Want for Christmas is You

‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ is on repeat everywhere I go. I don’t know exactly what makes the song so special to everyone, but maybe because the ‘You’ in the lyrics means different for each listener. It could be one’s partner working in a different place, or one’s child who passed away, or one’s friend never seen for a long time, or one’s relative who comes a long way to celebrate the Yuletide season together.

Everyone loves the song; even the cats and dogs love it. The beat is fast and catchy. But inside the fancy music is a very sad situation. It’s about a person who is waiting for someone. A person surrounded by children enjoying and people rejoicing. A person that does not wish for a material thing but for the presence of someone he or she loves.

The message of the song is general, but truthful. I hope the person reading this finds the ‘You’ he or she is longing. It’s funny how I hate reading something that is preaching to a reader, but I am doing it right now. Forgive me about that. This is supposed to be a ‘very short story’, but what I did is a song lyrics review. Forgive me again about that.
