A FLICKERING LIGHT IN THE DARK

A FLICKERING LIGHT IN THE DARK

There was gloom and darkness on every thought
Held captive by a depressing force of hopelessness,
Refusing the entry of reasoning to salvage my thoughts;
I was sinking into a state of pessimistic doldrums.

Who can resuscitate me from this state of woeful
Captivity of gloom and darkness; of depressing hopelessness,
Sandwiching me into a state of unconsciousness?
All around me is the sickening darkness grinning at me.

But somewhere far in my consciousness was a flashing light.
“That’s a flash,” I felt my consciousness reaching toward the light.
Sure enough, there is a flickering light in the dark.
But where cometh the light from I cannot tell.

There was a storm brewing in the darkness.
Strong and vengeful gale in the gloomy darkness,
Threatening to blow out the flickering light in the dark;
Or so I feared: retreating away from the gloomy dark.

Oh alas! What strengthening you flickering light?
For thou art no ordinary light: thou art the Word.
That’s what His Word meant to me: a Flickering light.
It lighted the gloomy dark of my state in the world.

In the thundering and whirling storm of life;
It flickered brighter, withstanding the batter.
When the gale blows and the waves rolls high;
It flickered yet the more stronger and brighter.

When the earth quakes and rocks melt into quick sand;
It flickered yet the more into an incendiary of celestial hope,
Gradually expanding into universal dominance:
Thou but a flicker of light is the word upon which stayed my hope.

Too much love of the cat, they say, kills the moth. Most love relationship got broken as a result of wrongly managed petty frail nerves. Like as I love to say, just musing.
