A Face From The Past

by sheelsdevi
A jubilant lass in spruced up dress,
Danced around my aging eyes.
Tiny legs with sprinting speed,
Stepped unto my lonely abode.
Her rotund face was smooth and soft,
Her twinkling eyes were large and bright.
She spoke to me of dolls and dreams,
Reviving all my childhood days.
I preened deep in to her soulful eyes,
Found there,all my empty dreams!
In there I found the angels of love,
With whom I flew once like dove.
My prattling ,joccund,`self'' sat there!
Looking toward my seeping fear.
My dubious mind began it`s prance,
Was that face ,a pressing menace?
I probbed and prodded in to my thoughts,
Pondering whence I`ve seen that face.
Lass,now showed her cute visage,
That looked like mine in younger age.
Then, a photo on my withering wall,
Fell flat on floor, with a wail.
I shuddered from my dizzy thought,
For it was my face from the past!!
Let others and the author know if you liked it
