Sleep Paralysis

by darthyamsus
Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis? quite the scary experience no? I've had sleep paralysis countless times but the most memorable one was when i was in college, i don't remember anything after the experience, except being found on a lawn, dirty and bloody. My name is Albertus, i was 19, a college student, I used to party a lot. Why am i telling you this? because it was during a party that I had experienced the most terrifying sleep paralysis I could have ever experienced in my whole life. It started at 6:30 pm of Friday, the night was young, booze, music, pretty chicas, there i was minding my own business sitting when something or rather, someone at the bottom-right corner of my eye caught my attention. It was a small figure, somewhat childish in structure. I did not mind it as i just passed it as a "trick of the eye". The night continued and as i gulped down my nth glass of beer i felt sleepy so i decided to take a nap. I dragged my drunk self up to the second floor and in to one of the bedrooms and passed out. A few hours later i woke up to the sound of screaming and screeching, like the sound of log nails scratching the blackboard, it was so eerie that i got up and ran down the stairs as fast as i could, but as i jumped down the third step, i slid and heard a loud cracking sound, i had broken my left leg. I screamed and cried in pain as the pain i had felt was sharp and intense, like a nail being was driven right into my left knee. I screamed and cursed and cried, forgetting for a second about the eerie screeching earlier. The screeching stopped but something made the hair at the back of my neck stood, i could hear humming and a somewhat dragging sound, like something was being dragged on the floor. I pulled myself up with the chair and limped toward the dining hall but just as i arrived at the door, i looked back and saw a horrendous sight, to the left of where i slid was a mutilated tongue on a round table, in the vase, fingers stuck out instead of flowers, i pulled myself together, trying to hold my fear in and i opened the door to the dining hall, the dining hall was a bloody mess, blood here and there, fingers ripped apart, kidneys, livers, guts shredded like ground meat, The smell was nauseating and the humming got louder, i got more scared but decided to carry on, why i did? i do not know, might have be0en the booze, might have been out of pure curiosity, but, one thing is for certain, i was scared senseless. i was shaking in fear. Who/what could have done something so terrible, so inhumane? i thought to myself, as i was trying to hold my ground, the humming stopped, i had been so caught up in the horrendous sight that i had not noticed the humming stopped for a while. I turned around to find a horror movie-worthy sight. A small girl, around 7 years old, humming something incomprehensible, some sort of incantation. The last thing i felt was a chilling touch, a cold breeze that could make anyone shiver. I opened my mouth, i tried to shout, to scream at the top of my lungs but i had no voice, i could not move, i had no power over my own body, scared senseless, i started to cry as i hear maniacal laughter and a shadow approaching me as darkness was engulfing my surroundings, It makes no sense right? i was standing then suddenly i was in a dark room where i could not move but believe me, you and I both had no clue as to what was going on here. I felt my hands being twisted and my neck being slowly strangled, my eyes bulging out and my nose filled with water. I cried and pleaded for death, the pain was unbearable and as my consciousness started to fade, i felt a sense of relief, the pain was easing away, i slowly regained movements and my surroundings that was one pitch black had turned into a bedroom. I was in a bedroom at the house where the party was held, i could hear loud music, screams of joy and laughter and the typical drunken chants of college life. I was so relieved, was i dreaming? it seemed so real, the pain, the fear. I tried to recall everything that had happened but seemed to remember one thing, as i was recalling what had happened, the doorbell rang, "I'll get it" said one person with a female voice, as i heard those lines, i shivered for those were the words i had heard before passing out.

It's starting . . . .

MUST READ: Set in revolutionary France, this narrative is a compelling piece that explores the tension between freedom and imprisonment. While doing this it also delves into the moral dilemma facing those who fight blindly for what they believe in.
